Ukraine Appeal
Woolly hats, gloves, socks and scarves are being collected at
Rose Tea Rooms and Headley Deli.
All donations gratefully received are being sent to the Ukraine to
help keep people warm this winter.

Royal Exchange - Santa's Grotto
What a great family evening!
With Father Christmas and his working Elf at the Royal Exchange, children enjoyed the occasion and were all given a present by Father Christmas. All Saints Church choir concluded the evening with a number of Christmas carols.
This was a super family evening with the Royal Exchange and their staff at its best. The parish council provided Father Christmas and the Woolmer Forest Lions brought the whole evening together in a brilliant evening for the community.

Royal Exchange Lindford and WFL This Christmas
Woolmer forest lions are simply amazed by what the Royal Exchange has achieved in conjunction with other associations in the community this week. The Santa's grotto night on Tuesday, which involved the Lindford Parish Council, All Saints Church choir and Woolmer Forest Lions Raised £194 in donations. The purpose of the evening was not fundraising but simply for families to visit the pub and meet father Christmas. The place was packed!!
On Thursday the Royal Exchange held the charity quiz which proved to be a complete sell out. Chloe was a wonderful quiz mistress, supported by Jack, Kyle, Ricky and Rhianna. The quiz raised £230 and the sold out Christmas Hamper raised £400 what an effort.
What a total to raise for a charity that directly serves the local community .
A huge thank you to Amy, Chloe and Aaron at the Royal Exchange.

Woolmer Forest Lions Club President John Lewis attended a thank you lunch, at the Kingsley Centre, in recognition of the financial donation of £500 that Woolmer Forest Lions had donated to the centre to help with the cost of essential drainage work, recently undertaken. John is fourth from the left in the photo. John Lewis said, 'To see the support given to disabled people and their families in the community, at the Kingsley Centre was really amazing.'

Today Sue Lewis and Louise Eldridge, wives of John Lewis and Brian Eldridge took it upon themselves to run a chocolate tombola on behalf of the Woolmer Forest Lions Club . It was great to see the WFL banner promoting the club within the local community. Well done Girls! The total amount raised for the club was £101, which was a great effort.

Business Meeting - Visit of Adeel Shah
Guest Adeel Shah pictured along with Woolmer Forest Lions Club Members
Adeel Shah spoke to us about his roles within the community and his involvement with the Jalsa Salama. Adeel is an Iman (priest) in the Ahmadi Muslim religion and also holds roles in local and district council. He spoke about the many ways the local Ahmadi support the community and gave us some insight into the large-scale organisation involved in running the Jalsa, which is a yearly event held between Kingsley and Alton, whilst keeping the local community happy.

John Lewis Woolmer Forest Lions President, said this years event went very well, and he thanked all the Lions and Friends of Lions who helped with this event.
WFL took on their usual role in organizing the car parking, and this year we parked 1,812 cars.
The total raised in donations on the day was £1,022. 56 and the Club would like to thank the members of the public that kindly supported the club, in such a generous fashion.

Royal Exchange Charity Quiz Night
What a busy, well supported Charity Quiz Night it was!
Amy, Chloe and their team adorned as much Lions clothing that they could get their hands on. They also placed Lions banners in strategic places in the pub in order to increase the community's awareness of the Woolmer Forest Lions. On the night the quiz raised £156 which Brakspear have kindly increased to £180.
Pictured below are WFL President John Lewis and fellow Lion Brian receiving the money raised, along with Chloe on the microphone and the winning team with us all. Thanks again to the Royal Exchange and Brakspear for a great night and their continued support.

WOODLEA SCHOOL - WILD TRIBE BOOKS EVENT
Dear All,
I had the great pleasure today of spending a part of this morning at Woodlea Primary School, where I met the new Headteacher Mrs Abigail Oliver, along with Ellie Jackson, who is the author of all the Wild Tribe children's books, that we have provided to all our local Primary Schools over the past couple of years.
We also discussed the possibility of using our services in the future to further develop the Save the Planet theme within these well written and illustrated children's books.

Woolmer Forest Lions are delighted to announce that the Bottle Tombola at the Lindford Fete raised £160.
John thanked all the Lions and Friends of Lions who helped with this event, which was a great success.
ROYAL EXCHANGE - CHARITY QUIZ NIGHT 25th July
Woolmer Forest Lions President John Lewis said:
'What a great night this was. A huge well done to the Royal Exchange Public House in Lindford. The charity quiz night raised £152 on the night and Breakspear who own the pub have pledged to match the amount raised, so the event raised a magnificent £304.
Well done to all the Lions and Friends of Lions who attended. The staff at the Royal Exchange, Chloe, Ricky, Jack, all led by Manager Amy were organised, full of enthusiasm and in total support of Woolmer Forest Lions . Thanks to all.

VISIT OF ACTING DISTRICT GOVERNOR TO THE MAY BUSINESS MEETING
Sandra Manktelow the Acting District Governor of District 105sc and a member of Petersfield Lions joined us for the May Business Meeting of WFL. She handed out Long Service Awards to Joanne Wilson, the Club Secretary for 10 years service, and Alistair Gallon for 35 years service, both noteworthy feats.

Royal Exchange Quiz Night 27 March 2024
On March 27, 2024, the Royal Exchange in Lindford held their regular Thursday night quiz with this weeks profits being donated to the Woolmer Forest Lions Club.
The club also raffled one of our large chocolate Easter Eggs. Customers and members of staff at the Royal Exchange gave as generously as always and Amy, Aron and Chloe, once again did a great job.
The night was a huge success raising £354 in total. £200 from the Easter Egg raffle and £154 from the quiz itself. Woolmer Forest Lions say a big THANK YOU for everyone making the evening such a big success.
