🦁🦁 Words from the President June 2026 🦁🦁

What a great few years of learning this has been and it'll be Christmas before we know it!

Since I first became President back in the June of 2022 till the present day, I have thoroughly enjoyed this position. I continue to learn more and more about 'Lionism' and being a leader of an ever-changing group of people in order to serve of community both effectively and efficiently.

Our continued relationship with the Royal Exchange and Brakspear Brewery has proved to be an excellent avenue to advertise the Lions locally and hold events. I really do believe now that people locally have certainly heard of Woolmer Forest Lions and have a basic understanding of what we are about!

Each year, this role has produced it's challenges and this coming period will be no different with the Elvis Event at the Lindford Working Mens Club on the 11th of July.

The organisation of a Special 45th anniversary event of the existence of Woolmer Forest Lions in the Autumn is also underway.

The recent introduction of our Welfare Community Grant application system has proved to be popular, and enables us to distribute money up to £500 more consistently to individuals and group needs within our local community.

Please continue to donate and support us, so that we can continue to Serve our local community.

Many Thanks,

John

🦁🦁 Lions in the Inclosure! 🦁🦁

We had a wonderful morning supporting the Whitehill & Bordon Community Trust for the annual Hogmoor 6 Family Duathlon!

Four of our dedicated Lions members were out at the Hogmoor Inclosure today, trading in our usual routines for high-vis vests and flags.

Phoebe & Dick Hogmoor

From marshalling the course to cheering on the incredible families tackling the 2km run and 4km cycle, it was inspiring to see the community "Spring into Health" together.

✨️✨️A huge well done to all the participants, especially the young cyclists and runners who made it look easy!✨️✨️

We are proud to support events that promote health, family fun, and our beautiful local environment.

🐝 ✨️ We have been busy bees in at Ticehurst Home for the Elderly in Aldershot, sprucing up their courtyard ready for the residents to enjoy ✨️🐝

Lots of beautiful flowers have been planted. Thank you to our wonderful volunteers who were able to make it happen!

Finally, a huge thank you to all the staff for their wonderful hospitality and friendly faces!

Happy To Chat Bench Handover

The Mayor of Whitehill and Bordon Town Council Catherine Clark and President of Woolmer Forest Lions John Lewis

Despite the horrible weather Mayor of Whitehill and Bordon Town Council Catherine Clark and President of Woolmer Forest Lions John Lewis braved the elements this week to formally hand over a bench donated by the Lions to the "Happy To Chat" cause. This new bench is in Malmsbury Open Space, on the far side of the green away from the road [Forest/Malmsbury Road]. This initiative was set up to encourage those people who wanted, to sit down, say hello and have a chat!

We hope this will provide an opportunity for people to talk and listen with others!!
